Below is a list of technical problems that may occur more frequently and respective solutions.
Obviously, most of the information that we propose below is also present in the manual of use of your scale.
In the event of a scale failure, we recommend that you first consult this list which will allow you to quickly solve a certain type of problem; if instead you do not find a solution in this list, we suggest to read again the user manual of your scale.
problem | Possible cause | action | solution
General case
|
The scale does not
turn on anymore
|
utilization
|
If you use the scale
with the battery,
check that the battery
is charged.
If you use the scale
with the power supply,
check that the electrical
outlet works and
that the charger is
well attached
to the scale and
especially that it is
the original charger.
|
Check and correct the cause |
the charger does not work anymore | take out the internal battery and check if the scale works by feeding it only with the charger |
If the scale does not turn on but it works with the battery, the charger must be changed. If it does not work neither with the battery charged nor with the power supply, please return the scale or ask for a weighing or technician |
||
the battery does not work anymore | take out the internal battery and check if the balance runs by feeding it only with the charger | If the scale turns on, the battery must be changed
The electrical charge level is very low even when the scale is attached to the electrical outlet |
the charger does not work anymore | Verify that the electrical outlet works and that the charger is firmly attached to the scale and that it is the original charger of the scale.. | If the charge level is still too low, change the charger
The balance seems
to have stopped:
it turns on but the
display does not
show the weight
|
Electronic problem
|
Replacement of electronic components | Return the scale to us or ask for a weighing or balancing technician’s intervention
Problem of connection |
Check if the connection cable between the weighing pan and the indicator is in good condition and is well connected to the distribution box. |
Repair of the connection cable between weighing plate and indicator. If necessary, contact us for information on the wiring diagram. |
||
The figures on the scale display are not understandable, do not read well, are fragmented |
Electronic problem
|
Replacement of electronic components | Return the scale to us or ask for a weighing or balancing technician’s intervention
Calibration error |
Recalibrate the balance only if it is not a CE-M approved scale |
To recalibrate the scale following the instructions in the user manual, we recommend that you use a mass that weighs at least 50% of the scale’s maximum capacity and that is a mass of which you know the exact weight or a sample weight. . |
||
Overload on the scale
|
Attempt to recalibrate
the balance only if it
is not a CE-M approved scale
|
To recalibrate the scale following the instructions in the user manual, we recommend that you use a mass that weighs at least 50% of the scale’s maximum capacity and that is a mass of which you know the exact weight or a sample weight.
Object left on the weighing plate before turning on the scale |
Free the plate and turn the scale back on |
|||
Problem of connection
|
Check if the connection cable
between the weighing pan
and the indicator is in good
condition and is well connected
to the distribution box.
|
Repair of the connection cable between weighing plate and indicator. If necessary, contact us for information on the wiring diagram
Keyboard failure | Replacing the keyboard | Return the scale to us or ask for a weighing or balancing technician’s intervention
The printer no longer works or prints badly (on scales equipped with a printer) |
Paper positioned badly
|
Reposition the card | Verify that the paper roll is well positioned and that the paper is not jammed. If not, send the scale back to us or ask for a weighing or balancing technician’s intervention
You are not using the good type of paper | Check the type of paper | Use thermal paper coils of a size suitable for your printer
The weight detection does not seem to be correct (if you know approximately the weight of the object weighed) |
You are not using
the good unit of measurement
|
Reset
|
Change the unit of measurement by following the instructions in the scale user manual
The detected weight is unstable, changes continuously with respect to the same mass or is not correct with respect to a mass whose exact weight is known |
Conditions of use |
Check if you are weighing in the presence of air currents, especially if you use a precision balance. Check the stability of the balance or ground surface. Check that the weighing pan is not in contact with an external object (above or below) | Check and correct the cause
Check that the electric current you are using does not spread electromagnetic fields or electrostatic charges. Check that the temperature and humidity conditions of the place where you use the scale are those recommended in the instructions for use. | Use the balance in another place
Scales for commercial activity |
You are no longer able to carry out sales operations |
The memory is full (PLU) |
Empty the memory |
Free some memory space by following the instructions in the user manual |
The printer no longer works or prints badly (if your scale has a printer) | Paper positioned badly |
Reposition the paper |
Check that the paper bobbin is well positioned and that the paper is not jammed. If not, send the scale back to us or ask for a weighing or balancing technician’s intervention
You are not using the good type of paper | Check the type of paper | Use thermal paper bobbins of a size suitable for your printer
All CE-M approved scales | Calibration error | Approval must be carried out again |
Return the scale to us or request the intervention of a qualified weighing or balancing technician for the legal approval of the balance |
|
Floor scales, pallet trucks and pallet scales | La rilevazione del peso (di un oggetto di cui ne conoscete esattamente il peso) non sembra essere corretta | Calibration error | Ricalibrare la bilancia se non é una bilancia omologata CE-M |
To recalibrate the scale following the instructions in the user manual, we recommend that you use a mass that weighs at least 50% of the scale’s maximum capacity and that is a mass of which you know the exact weight or a sample weight. |
The detected weight is unstable, changes continuously with respect to the same mass or is not correct with respect to a mass whose exact weight is known | Conditions of use | Check the stability of the balance or ground surface. Check that the weighing pan is not in contact with an external object (above or below) | Check and correct the cause
Check that the electric current you are using does not spread electromagnetic fields or electrostatic charges. | Use the balance in another place
The display does not show zero or without weight the display shows a value> or <to zero | Failure of load cells or their connections |
Replacement of the load cell (s) |
Return the scale to us or ask for a weighing or balancing technician’s intervention
Conditions of use |
Check the stability of the balance or ground surface. Check that the weighing pan is not in contact with an external object (above or below) | Check and correct the cause
Blocking when raising or lowering the forks |
Mechanical problem |
Unlocking |
Adjust the screw located at the bottom right of the transpallet vertical structure; tighten or widen the screw according to the desired speed
All precision scales |
The message appears on the display |
Calibration error |
Recalibrate the balance only if it is not a CE-M approved scale |
Use a sample weight to accurately recalibrate the precision balance following the instructions in the user manual |
The detected weight is unstable, changes continuously with respect to the same mass or is not correct with respect to a mass whose exact weight is known |
Conditions of use |
Check that the temperature and humidity conditions of the place where you use the scale are those recommended in the instructions for use. |
If you have a precision scale, leave it constantly attached to the mains power supply and in operation mode or observe the heating times of the scale (from 1/2 hour to 3 hours depending on the scale) |
